This has been a great year for Kiss My Bundt Bakery in terms of marketing and publicity. We've received many awards and have been featured in a number of magazines and news blogs, including the LA Times.
Kiss My Bundt's founder, Chrysta Wilson, got a publishing deal with Life of Reiley for the Kiss My Bundt cookbook (out Thanksgiving 2009).
Chrysta and the Bakery have even been involved in helping improve the West 3rd Street community teaching business classes, donating cakes to schools and charities, and serving as a volunteer Board Member on the West 3rd Street Business Association.
However, times have also been tough, economically speaking.
The price of commodities (milk, butter, flour, sugar, Belgian Chocolate, etc) has been on the rise, sometimes doubling monthly.
Retail and Wholesale sales have recently been on the decline as our customers (individuals and businesses alike) have decreased their purchases as a result of the economic downturn.
Times are tough. We need your help to keep our doors open and continuing serving our Bundts and our serving community!
Since this post was drafted on 11/11, we had an incredible sales day probably related to a Groupon.comoffer and an NBC Los Angeles piecethat came out on Thursday 11/12. The sales make us hopeful that things are turning for the best, but we want to create a sales goal to help secure the Bakery on 3rd Street for a long time.
We've decided to go public with our need to increase sales for long-term survival so that our supporters can help us. We don't want to be one of those businesses that are so afraid to ask for help that they keep their needs a secret and eventually end up closing in silence.
OUR NEED:
We need to sell (the equivalent of) 5,000 mini Bundt cupcakes
by November 30th, 2009 to keep our doors open.
With over 2000+ Twitter Followers, Facebook Friends, and Newsletter recipients, if we could get everyone we know (and some of the people you know) to at least buy 3 mini bundts, we can reach our goal! (Or, you buy one and get 2 friends to buy 1 mini bundt each! Or more!)
